STRUCTURAL TIMBER
 
CE marking of two and three layer laminated timber
The normative reference is EN 14080 "Timber structures - Glued laminated timber and glued solid timber".
 
The standard’s requested system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance is System 1.
 
The product characterisation tests to be mentioned on the label include:
  • mechanical performance (bending strength, tensile strength etc.)
  •  bonding and lamination quality
  • durability performance
  • assessment of the release of dangerous substances (formaldehyde emission)
  • testing of finger joints
  • fire tests
 
CE marking of finger-jointed solid timber (e.g. KVH)
The normative reference is EN 15497 "Structural finger jointed solid timber - Performance requirements and minimum production requirements".
The standard’s requested system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance is System 1.
 
CE marking of cross laminated timber
The normative reference is EN 16351 "Timber structures - Cross laminated timber - Requirements".
This standard has yet to be published in the Official Journal.
The standard’s requested system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance is System 1.
 
CE marking of square-edged solid timber
The normative reference is UNI EN 14081-1 "Timber structures - Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section - Part 1: General requirements".
The standard’s requested Attestation of Conformity System is System 2+.
 
CE marking of square-edged solid timber with wane
The normative reference is ETA-12/0540 "Strength graded structural timber - Square edged logs with wane - Chestnut".
 

WOOD-BASED PANELS

Normative reference
UNI EN 13986:2005 - Wood-based panels for use in construction - Characteristics, evaluation of conformity and marking.

Attestation system
The system of attestation of conformity required is System 1, 2+, 3 or 4 depending on intended use.


Tests
The product characterisation tests for obtain ce certificate of conformity to be mentioned on the label include:
  • mechanical performance (bending strength, tensile strength etc.)
  • determination of bonding quality
  • durability performance
  • assessment of the release of dangerous substances (formaldehyde emission)
